Aucanna Silistra

The Fourth Lilac War is over, the former Imperial Capital of Anbenncóst has been brutally sacked. It is said, the city was still being looted when the Usurper Lothane Síl Wex was being crowned. Aucanna had lost her father, her mentor and her oldest brother. But she was alive, and as long as she was alive, she would keep fighting.

Aucanna observed the worm, high from her ducal throne. The mere sight of him disgusted her. The envoy looked every bit the slimy lickspittle, and a part of her does not doubt the traitor had chosen this man to infuriate her further. But she listened, painful as it was for her, and let the man bring his lord's message

"Oh, fair lady Aucanna."The slimy man started, and Aucanna had every intention of snorting. For a lickspittle, he was BAD at flattering someone. But she let him continue."My duke laments the tension between his duchy and yours. There seems to be a misunderstanding. Plaintiffs from Istralore have been spotted executing subjects of Cestirande and taxing them. It is my duke's deepest desire to see peace between our two realms. He seeks to have you reaffirm his rightful claims and to keep your subjects in check."

How much she wished she could punch the smirk off his face. One of her advisors took the parchment the envoy tried to deliver, but she had no interest in seeing any of Vincen's lies and lofty stories."You can tell your duke that he has no legal claims on my side of the Luna river. But that does not matter to him, does it? When Jexis invaded Anbennar, your dukes sided with her. When the mages oppressed the good people of this land, they sided with them. And when the Usurper overthrew your rightful liege, Vincen vowed to him and betrayed his oaths. I wonder, would you have joined the Sorcerer-King if he were still around?"

Everyone in the hall gasped, and all her advisors seemed to be holding their breaths. Her brother remained on his seat, bitter about his loss of status, no doubt, but still loyal enough to be useful to her. Their mother seemed appalled by the lack of etiquette. It was worth it, though; the lickspittle's smirk had vanished and was now contorted in rage. He did not have a chance to reply as she stood from her throne and slapped him hard across the face. The man had fallen to the floor, and his rage turned into fear.

"Go, now"said Aucanna"And tell your duke that if he dares to claim any more of my land, he will have to fight me for it."

She turned to you and looked with her normal, stern and cold look"I know that look, speak."
