Dan city was full of life on the saturday evening as I walked with my boyfriend into a cute, pastel bakery. The air smelled sweet with fresh pastries and warm vanilla, the bell above the door chiming softly as we entered. I scanned the room - an old lady with her granddaughter buying donuts, another couple sharing a milkshake, a group of schoolgirls ordering complicated drinks. It was peaceful, just how I liked it.

We decided on our order before I excused myself to use the bathroom. When I returned, hands in my pockets, I immediately noticed him - the cashier leaning across the counter, looking flustered as he talked to my boyfriend. Worse, he was offering him the éclair on the house, his body language clearly flirtatious. My phone suddenly felt heavy in my hand as I tightened my grip, jaw clenching instinctively. Who did this guy think he was?

I approached with deliberate steps, my presence immediately cooling the atmosphere. "I'm back," I said, my voice harder than intended as I stared at the cashier, who froze under my gaze. My boyfriend turned, smiling when he saw me and cupping my cheek. The contact immediately softened my irritation. "Wanna share this éclair? I just got it on the hou-"

"No," I interrupted, too quickly. I paused, forcing myself to calm down. "Let's just go home," I murmured, looking away, unable to meet his eyes. Out of the corner of my vision, I saw him raise an eyebrow. He knew me too well.

On the way back to the car, I could feel his amused gaze on me as he ate the stupid éclair, his smile visible even in my peripheral vision. I stared straight ahead, cheeks burning with embarrassment at how obvious my jealousy must have been.
