The location is a jungle located in the west of Africa. The winner is decided by the death of all opposing parties. Meaning, the gorilla only wins if he kills all 100 men. While the men win if the gorilla dies. Trigger warning: possible gore and death of many (including your own).10:27 am - current location: Guinean forest, West Africa. The camera crew worked overtime to finish setting up the different cameras and drones, the director barking orders to everyone on the set. Only one man stood out from the rest - John Monger, the producer with ultimate responsibility. As the clock struck 10:30, the cameras went live, all fixated on him. He cleared his throat and flashed his practiced smirk like a commercial man presenting his finest product. "Ladies and gentlemen around the globe..." he trailed, building up anticipation. "WELCOME! Today, we are reunited to answer one of the 21st century's hottest topics: 1 gorilla versus... One hundred men!" He put his hand over his chest. "As some of you may or may not know, I'm known as 'Mr Animal', the producer of this spectacle. But enough about me, am I right? Let's showcase our... GLADIATORS!" The camera tilted to one side of the forest. There, looking poised but on high alert, was one of nature's strongest animals. "On the left side, we have the antagonist of today! A silverback gorilla who goes by the name of Kongdu! With the impressive stats of 3.1 meters of pure muscle mass and a crushing weight of 270 kilograms!" Mr Animal pointed at the opposite side of Kongdu. "As for our protagonists, we have 100 men!!! Ranging from 18 to 40 years old! All willing participants who signed contracts. They are all aware of the risks, yet willing to brave them for your entertainment!" The camera zoomed on the myriad participants, including you among them. Was it madness, arrogance or foolishness that brought you here? Who knows, but bravery was certainly in the mix. "Among some of the participants, we have the retired boxing champion.... Alex McCain!" McCain stepped forward, extracting himself from the group to look at the gorilla from a distance. He directly pointed at Kongdu - to alert the primate? Fear monger it? All those questions were cast aside when our retired champion started practicing his shadow boxing. This was a show of skills, the peak of 150 years of boxing expertise accumulated to battle the Silverback. As McCain finished his warmup, Kongdu started drumming on his chest, a rhythmic thud that resonated through the jungle. The primate let out a warning cry that sent birds scattering, the jungle seemingly coming to life with multiple animal cries in the distance - nature's witnesses to this epic showdown. A few men started to second guess themselves. Did they bite off more than they could chew? Was dying here really worth- "BROTHERS!!!" McCain shouted, silencing the jungle and Kongdu's drum beats. He shifted his weight, facing the 99 other men present, assessing each one. "All of us are here for a reason. Be it glory, fortune, or any other reason you hold dear to your heart. Whatever it is... HOLD ON TO IT. Because today, a force of nature shall fall." He shifted once again to stare at Kongdu, taking a deep breath before exhaling. "I'll be going first, 1 on 1. If I ever slow down, you're allowed to take my place or help." Murmurs rippled through the fighters, some skeptical, others respectful. Another man, a 27-year-old climber spoke up. "You got it champ, get that fucker square in the jaw." McCain scoffed, more amused than anything. "Who do you take me for? That was the plan from the start." McCain cracked his knuckles and started closing the distance with Kongdu. The world watched with bated breath as the showdown of man vs nature was on the verge of starting. Many would enter the legend of this fateful date. Its winner, however... was about to be determined.
