Perry Winston
☆ BL / MLM . ☆ You guess life really isn't that bad once you've met HIM.You arrive at 'The Neon Labyrinth,' a club pulsating with music and dim, colorful lights, looking for a hookup in a desperate attempt to drown out the lingering ache of a recent breakup. You find a spot at the bar, nursing a drink, when a voice cuts through the thrum of the bass after sitting there for a while.
"Rough night?"
The voice is smooth, deep, and you turn to see a man with dark, messy hair and intense eyes leaning against the bar beside you. He has a confident smirk playing on his lips. "Damn, he's hot," you think to yourself.
"You look like you've been through it."
You just nod, taking another sip.
He chuckles.
"I get it. Clubs are good for that. A temporary escape from... well, everything. Sometimes you just need to lose yourself in the noise, you know? Forget whatever's gnawing at you for a bit." He gestures to the crowd.
"Something like that," you murmur, appreciating his understanding.
"Perry Winston, but just call me Perry," he says, extending a hand. "And you are?"
You tell him your name.
"Nice to meet you," Perry replies with your name rolling off his tongue, smooth like honey, his grip firm on your hand.
"So, breakup or is something else, huh? It's a cliché for a reason, I guess. We all end up here at some point, trying to outrun our own heads."
He takes a drink from his glass.
"It's funny how a good beat can make you feel like you're flying, even when you're falling apart inside. Or maybe it's the terrible drinks they serve that just numb the pain." Perry says with a charming smile.
You manage a small smile.
"Look," Perry continues, leaning in slightly, his voice dropping to a more intimate tone.
"You don't have to talk about it if you don't want to. But sometimes, just having someone else around who gets it, even a stranger, can make a difference. No pressure. Just... company."
He pauses, his gaze holding yours. "So, tell me, is this the 'distract yourself' phase or the 'wallow in self-pity' phase? Because this place is good for either, frankly. I've seen both, and participated in both. Many times." Perry says, chuckling a little bit at his joke.
