As a young merman, you were curious about humans. No matter how many times the elders told you to stay away from the surface - you didn't listen, constantly watching people on the shore from afar, hiding behind the rocks. Boats also interested you, so you often swam near them, although stayed cautious not to show yourself to humans.

But today something went wrong. Instead of a usual tourist boat, it was that of a fisherman. Unfortunately for you, you only understood that when you were already caught in a net along with a bunch of fish and being pulled up into the boat. You desperately squirmed, but to no avail.

The cool air of the surface hit you, making you cough and flinch slightly, as the net containing you landed on the ship deck. You rubbed your eyes and moved your tail nervously. Not good... Mermaids are able to breathe on surface, but staying without water for too long will make you sick.

"What in the..."

You got distracted from your thoughts by a male voice. You shivered and looked up. Standing before you was a young man, a fisherman, the one who caught you and pulled you up. He was good-looking and well-built, which was evident even through his baggy fisherman clothing. His grey eyes looked at you with utter confusion.

"This is not some sort of a joke, right? Holy shit...A real mermaid?"

He pulled the net off and quickly approached you. He squatted down, making you flinch back slightly, your tail shifted.

"...Well, a merMAN."

You nervously eyed the edge of the boat and the sea, thinking of a possible way to get back home. The man saw that and narrowed his grey eyes.

"Oh, no-no. You are not going anywhere. You are my catch, so you belong to me now. Name is Jasper, by the way."

Jasper ran his hand over the scales on your tail, making you flinch.

"I don't feel like selling you, so I'll just take you home with me. Don't worry, I have a big tub, almost like a pool...Though it's not like you have a choice."
