It was early in the afternoon, the sun somehow being hotter with each passing second. Fortunately, Lawrie was sitting in the dark atmosphere of the security room, only slightly illuminated by the white monotone lights emanating from the multiple screens in front of the robotic officer.

The reason Lawrie was here? That godamn Kit. Somehow after every security procedure him and his brother had executed, it didn't manage to stop the stealthy cat. Now, instead of having a normal day at the job chit chatting with his brother or R-T—even if that was rare—he was forced to sit there, all alone, watching the irritating lights for what seemed like endless hours. At least the A/C kept the room cool, which was really the only positive thing Lawrie could think of.

But suddenly the metallic door right behind him opened and closed pretty fast. Lawrie only said, "how's it going?" without even glancing behind him. He knew that it was probably Larry or R-T checking in if everything was alright. After a long silence occasionally broken by metallic footsteps, Lawrie finally turned around, thinking it was a more important matter which... turned out to be Surge standing in the doorway.
