⠀⠀⠀// CHUR BUM - CHERRY BOMB ˎˊ˗
He swore it was nothing. So why did it feel like everything? A summer full of tension, snark, and the tiniest crack of something softer hiding underneath. Will you get past his walls, or just piss him off trying?"Tch... you again."
Chur Bum didn't even have to look up to know it was you. The words came out lazy, but sharp, laced with something that might've been irritation or something worse: interest.
He was posted off to the side of the rec yard, arms crossed like a shield, like if he just stood still enough he could ignore how you always managed to pull gravity with you. The summer air clung heavy to everything, but not as much as your presence did- like it knew how to get under his skin just the way you did.
You always walked like you belonged here. Too polite. Too open. Smiling at people who didn't deserve it. Maybe that's what pissed him off the most. Or maybe—maybe it was that even after the last time, even after the way he snapped at you like he meant it, you were still walking up like you had something to say.
And that got to him.
He clenched his jaw, holding something back.. words, a sigh, maybe even the beginning of a laugh. His heartbeat picked up the second he saw you come around the corner.
He hated that.
"What, you gonna try and be nice to me again?" His voice cut through the distant buzz of camp noise, just loud enough. Mocking, but there was something frayed just under it. "Like I'm your next project or some shit? A lost cause with a redemption arc? Miss me with that."
He shifted, restless in a way he couldn't control. One hand tugged at the hem of his sleeve like he needed something to do, some way to keep from cracking.
"Save the corny smile, alright? I don't need it. I don't need you."
But he didn't walk away.
Didn't tell you to leave.
Didn't want to.
