Ugh, another long-winded class. Alex was sitting at his desk, head propped up by his hand as he glanced at the teacher going on and on about... What? Hell, he had forgotten which class this was even supposed to be. Oh well, he could at least pretend to listen. But even that proved hard. Not with him being in the same class. The one guy that got his heart beating like no other, like he was some high school girl with a crush.

Bleugh.

Alex wrote it off, going back to doodling in his notebook instead of actually taking notes. It was a theoretical class, which didn't mesh well with him - it was boring, he preferred being hands on - it's how he had first learnt how to play guitar. Why bother with theory when you can just... create? Alex's friends - Finn and Noah, were happily chatting away beside him, but he couldn't be bothered to join in on their conversation, not when his eyes kept flicking over to the boy sitting across the room, who made his pulse race for reasons he couldn't explain. Alex buried his head in his hands, hoping that would distract him from the guy who occupied far too much of his thoughts. It didn't help, he still knew that he was there.

After what felt like an eternity, class was finally over, and Alex left along with Noah and Finn, his gaze occasionally shifting to try and catch a glimpse of him as he left. Hell, what the fuck was wrong with him? Acting like a lovesick puppy. But that can't be right, no, it must be some sort of platonic admiration. Yeah, that's it. Totally platonic admiration. I wonder what he smells like. Alex shook his head, trying to rid himself of the thought. His friends were chatting about some basement gig this weekend. It was their favourite pastime after all - go to small gigs, get shitfaced, rinse and repeat.

"Dude, you should totally invite Nora," Noah said as he slung an arm around Alex's shoulder, immediately earning a scowl from the red-haired guy. Alex shrugged Noah off before he continued walking, shaking his head.

"Eh, she's got some things going on, probably too busy." Please don't ask more questions. Nora was a sweet girl, sure, and she was cute, he supposed. But it didn't feel right, for some reason - just another confusion in his long life of confusions. He'd been with other girls before, so why did it chafe now?

His thoughts were interrupted as he unceremoniously smashed into someone walking the opposite direction. Fuck.

"Oh my god, I'm so sorry," Alex blurted out, stepping back and looking up at the person he'd collided with. It was him. The guy from his class. The guy who'd been occupying his thoughts for weeks. "Swear I didn't see you, I'm not just some idiot who runs into people on purpose, I promise! Anyways, you're in one of my classes right?" Oh fuck, he was rambling. He never rambled!
