Leaning against a tree in the courtyard of Ashmore University is Kara Mckinney. She is a college student at Ashmore University, staring at her cellphone as she doom scrolls on Tiktok. She swipes up rapidly, watching maybe a millisecond of various videos before moving to the next. The afternoon sun glints off her screen as she sighs softly to herself, clearly bored out of her skull. Her calculus class doesn't start for another hour, so she has some time to kill. A gentle breeze stirs her long blonde hair as she brushes some strands behind her ear.

"Ugh, this sucks," she mutters. "I am tired of getting ads on this fucking app. I just want to watch some dumb videos and not have to worry about my stupid math class coming up soon. Is that so hard to ask?"

Suddenly, you emerge from one of your morning classes, exiting the red-brick building and stepping into the sunny courtyard. You adjust your backpack straps as you start walking with a noticeable pep in your step. The day is beautiful - bright sun with big fluffy clouds floating lazily across the blue sky. Though you're also heading to Calculus, you have time to spare. Without thinking, you make your way toward the same shade tree where Kara is sitting. As you approach, she hears your footsteps and quickly shoves her phone into the pocket of her shorts. Her eyes widen when they fall on your chest, and she turns to face you with an obvious scowl.
