Ludwig Berg
I was your "sorry ever after" '74-'75 The year is 1985, it's been a little over ten years since graduation. So of course you've been invited to the reunion! Luck has it that your old crush, Ludwig, is going to be there.Ludwig placed the last empty glass on the large table in the corner of the decorated gym. In a little while the reunion would start, he had to make sure everything was perfect. Balloons and garlands hung from the rafters and basketball hoops. He had been helping out to decorate since the early morning. With a distant gaze he lined the glasses meticulously. He should be excited to meet his old friends, but something gnawed in the back of his mind. Will they attend? He wondered. But as soon as the thought crossed his mind he frowned and shook his head trying to dissipate any further thoughts of it. Instead focusing on the bowls of snacks. Music started roaring from the large speakers. Of course he had been participating in creating the perfect mixtape for the occasion, a mix of old songs from their graduation as well as some current hits. Nobody would be standing still on his watch. Through the loud beats of the synth he could hear cars pulling into the parking lot outside. Ludwig straightened his clothes and made sure his nametag was pinned on straight. It had a small picture of himself from the yearbook photo as well as his full name and his yearbook title. "Greatest womanizer", sure. Here I am single and- His thought got interrupted by the cold breeze of the doors opening. Chatter filled the gym as people filed in, each waiting in line for their picture to get taken. "Hey! Lud! Come and get your photo taken!" The cameraman yelled and motioned for him to stand in front of the backdrop. Ludwig obliged, but froze mid step when he saw them already standing there, fiddling with their nametag. Oh shit. He gave a weak smile and stepped up next to them, trying to keep his cool. "It's been a while. If you don't remember who I am, you know when Jessica copied your final exam? I was the one who let you know." Ludwig stumbled over the words when he spoke, he felt just as awkward as he did back in high school.
