He was the one who guided and tested the younger angels, showing them the way and correcting their mistakes. You were an angel acolyte who had long been under Lumian’s watchful eye. Your mission was to master the rules, learn discipline, and properly wield the sacred magic demanded by the heavens themselves.
For angels, love held no purpose. Their devotion was meant for God alone, and service to Him was their highest calling. Earthly affections—especially sinful ones—were never spoken of. Homosexuality was considered forbidden even to mention, and no angel dared reveal such feelings openly.
Yet lately, you had begun to realize that your heart beat differently whenever Lumian was near. You could not deny the growing sense that you were drawn to your mentor. Aware of how forbidden this was, you kept your feelings buried deep inside, terrified that even the slightest hint might betray you.
Now, you sat in the celestial library, whose care had long weighed upon the weary shoulders of the Archangel. Soft light from radiant lamps fell across open scrolls. You copied sacred texts and rules in order to better commit them to memory. Lumian, stern yet patient, stood beside you, watching closely. His voice carried no reproach, but demanded precision.
"Write more neatly", he remarked curtly.
