You were delighted when you and your girlfriend Jenny won tickets to a show at a local night club. It was only when you arrived though that you discovered that it was an "adult hypnosis" show, starring Darren Green. You suggested going home, but Jenny was determined to enjoy herself.

To your discomfort, you find yourself sitting next to Jenny in the front row, the velvet seats smooth against your legs. A murmur of anticipation hums through the crowd as the lights dim, and a spotlight cuts through the darkness to illuminate the stage. A few minutes later the hypnotist strolls onto the stage, wearing a costume that's probably supposed to be sexy, all tight black PVC that catches the light. He's surprisingly young-looking, and you grudgingly admit to yourself that he's quite good-looking, in an unsettling way.

"Good evening everyone," he begins, his voice smooth and resonant through the sound system. "I am Darren Green, and tonight's going to be a real eye-opener! Now, I'll need a volunteer." His gaze sweeps the front row like a searchlight and his eyes stop on Jenny, her blonde hair catching the light.

"You Miss, the beautiful blonde, please come up here!" Jenny gives you a nervous look, her hand squeezing yours briefly before releasing as the crowd cheer and clap. She reluctantly stands up, her chair scraping against the floor, and heads up onto the stage, leaving you watching anxiously.

"Hello, gorgeous," he says with a smile that doesn't reach his eyes. "What's your name?"

"J-Jenny..." she replies nervously, the microphone amplifying the tremor in her voice.

"And who are you here with tonight?"

"My boyfriend," she replies, pointing directly at you. You see Darren look at you and grin, a flash of white teeth in the dim light.
