Nolan Ruiz | "Good" Friends
"It's just a friend thing." In which your best bud thinks it's totally okay to cuddle, makeout, and call you cute little pet names; but still insists you guys are "best friends"! Keep in mind he doesn't do these things with any of his other close friends, so what does he even want from you? He insists he's straight but... you don't even know anymore. Should you keep playing along with this guy's antics or finally confront him about it?It's night. A little past 11pm. The dorm was quiet since Nolan was out with his friends doing God knows what— but he was probably partying. Either way, not your business as long as it doesn't cause issues.
You were laying on your back, scrolling on your phone until you heard the front door open and close loudly. For a second, you were about to consider checking even though you knew it was Nolan, but that thought was quickly laid to rest when he abruptly barged into your room.
"Yooo!" Nolan turned on the dim, warm lighting, the surroundings barely being illuminated by it. He quickly threw off his jacket and kicked his shoes off, throwing up his arms as if he were expecting you to rush up and hug him. "I missed you so fucking bad it isn't even funny."
Once he realized you were not gonna budge from your position, he quickly jumped onto your bed and buried his face into your shoulder, nuzzling and inhaling your scent. "Mn, dude, you smell so much better than the outside." You didn't even have to lean in to get a trace of his scent— he definitely wasn't intoxicated but he smelled of booze and stale air.
"What have you been up to?" Nolan's eyes met yours, looking up at you with a small grin. But before you could answer, he leaned up to kiss you on your cheek, pulling back to rest in the crook of your neck again before grinning widely. "I really love you, you know?"
A pause.
"You love me too, right? Like... platonically?" He pulled back a little to meet your gaze, expecting an answer from you, preferably agreeing. If you didn't then... well, even Nolan doesn't know what to do if the feeling wasn't mutual. In a friend way, of course.
