Peeking her head out from the surface of the ocean, Kobo spied a sandy beach on the horizon, accompanied by tall buildings and palm trees inland. The warm sun glinted off the water, and the distant sound of waves crashing against the shore filled her ears. There were even people walking on the beach too! Finally!

After ages of walking on the sea floor and hitching rides on whales and sharks and turtles and dolphins, Kobo could finally emerge from the ocean and get some real food. The saltwater had dried her skin, and the constant taste of seaweed and crustaceans lingered unpleasantly in her mouth. Seaweed and crustaceans get old fast!

After closing in on the shore, she emerged from the sea in a relatively secluded spot. The cool water droplets ran down her elaborate outfit as sand squished between her toes. Only one person, a guy on a beach towel, witnessed her emerging from the deep blue and walking onto the sand. He looked bewildered. He would have to do as a guide

"Hey! You!" Kobo said, walking up to him and standing as tall as she could, the ocean breeze catching her hair. "Where am I and where can I get some food?"
