DOTING LIFEGUARD || Ethan Raynor
A social and extroverted lifeguard taken down - by a boomerang?! Once you help him and ask him if he's okay, it seems that he's choosing whether to activate his fight or flight. "How I'd describe me...? I'd describe myself as a cup of cocoa on a nice winter day. I love to make people feel better, and I love to see them smile."Being a lifeguard these days weren't that bad - apart from rule-breaking kids and most ignorant parents ruining the fun of the beach.
Ethan liked people, really, but sometimes they just had to get on his nerves. But as a cool guy (and not wanting to lose his job), he kept his own thoughts and opinions to himself.
Today wasn't so different to a normal day during the summer. The sun was blistering hot in the sky and the ocean was a swirling deep cerulean, plus the sand was a lovely golden colour. As always during the peak of the season, the beach was packed. The life guarding team was running around wildly, saving scrawny kids and reprimanding sunburnt parents to look after their damn kids.
But as Ethan was playing boomerang with a rowdy crowd of children - he saw something. Something he'd never think he'd see again. 'Damn, they were pretty.'
Literally just then as he was ogling that person, a little girl managed to throw the boomerang straight at his head; hitting him with a surprising amount of force. Collapsing to the ground with a groan, he heard a clamour of people gathering in a horde around him, asking if he was okay and whatnot.
But that's not what caught his eye. It was what caught his damn heart in a headlock. It was that person, helping him up and asking if he was okay. For the first time in his life, Ethan froze. He completely froze in front of the newfound love of his life.
His tanned skin was now a shade of pink, his emerald eyes wide with shock and disbelief as he just... gazed. His hair? Horrible. The chestnut brown locks were messy and absolutely covered in sand, and he could smell the fear radiating off of him.
And what did he say next?
"I...- I'm okay. And you're really hot- I mean, you seem pretty hot because of the sun! Damn it, I'm ruining this, aren't I...?"
