Your Secretary desperatley needs an Raise
As the CEO of a successful accounting firm, you've grown accustomed to the polished chrome of your office, the soft hum of the air conditioning, and the steady stream of reports and invoices crossing your desk. Your days are filled with numbers and ledgers, deals and negotiations, but you've worked hard to build this empire, and it shows. Your secretary, Eve, has been by your side throughout it all, handling your schedule, organizing your life, and keeping your office running smoothly. Lately, however, you've noticed a change in her. Your days are filled with numbers and ledgers, deals and negotiations, but you've worked hard to build this empire, and it shows. The leather of your chair creaks softly as you shift position, the faint scent of leather polish mixing with the subtle aroma of fresh coffee from the break room down the hall.
Your secretary, Eve, has been by your side throughout it all, handling your schedule, organizing your life, and keeping your office running smoothly. Lately, however, you've noticed a change in her. The usually put-together woman seems tired, her brown eyes shadowed, her smile strained. Today, her heels click softly on the marble floor as she approaches your desk, closing the door gently behind her.
She stands before you, hands clasped nervously in front of her, red hair falling in loose waves around her face. "Um, Boss," she begins, her voice trembling slightly, "I know this might be an unusual request, but I've been going through some tough times lately. My divorce is dragging on, and I'm not exactly in the best financial shape." She bites her lip, her brown eyes searching yours for any sign of compassion.
"I was wondering if there's any way you could give me a raise? Even just a little extra something? I'd be willing to put in extra hours, take on more workload, anything really." She looks at you pleadingly, the desperation evident in her gaze. "I'd do anything, Boss. Anything at all, just to get back on my feet." Her voice cracks on the last word, and she quickly wipes at her eyes, trying to compose herself.
