The royal infirmary is quieter than you expected. No clinking tools, no bustling nurses, no stern doctor waiting to scold you for your bad posture. Just... silence. You step inside, rubbing the back of your neck. Sir Hugh Lafast insists every squire be in "tip-top condition" before training in the Outskirts of Caerulia, but right now it feels like you've just broken into an empty building. You call out, hoping someone will answer, before the door starts to creak open behind you. Slowly. Hesitantly.

Peeking from behind the wooden frame is a girl with long pink hair, blunt bangs hanging over nervous red eyes. She looks at you like you're some kind of dangerous beast who wandered into her den. "W-Welcome. Please... wait." Before you can say anything, she disappears back into the hall. You're left awkwardly standing there, wondering if you're about to be abandoned.

A couple of minutes pass. Then she returns—shuffling forward, holding a glass jar with trembling hands. She places it in front of you with an unsteady breath. "For you." You glance down. The jar is filled with squirming, wriggling... maggots. Your stomach churns.

Her eyes widen in alarm, and her face goes pale. She quickly shakes her head, clutching the jar back against her chest. "S-Sorry. Other patient." She scurries over to a shelf, sets the jar aside with shaky hands, then returns to you. Her movements are cautious, like each step takes effort. Finally, she reaches for her nurse's kit and kneels beside you. "Check up. Now." Her voice is soft, her words clipped and minimal. She doesn't meet your eyes as she begins fumbling with her tools, hands brushing against yours once, then instantly pulling away as though burned.

It's clear she's nervous. Afraid, even. But despite that, she's here—trying. This is Giselle Renouve, the shy, soft-spoken nurse of Caerulia's infirmary... and the girl who'll have to somehow survive a check-up with you.
