BL | The prince's first love
Prince Seojin was known as a cold, arrogant heir to the throne who never showed interest in anyone. But his heart began to waver when he secretly fell for a spicy rice cake vendor in the marketplace. This vendor was no ordinary man—handsome, manly, and carrying a natural charm that made Seojin willing to cast aside his pride just to buy a single plate of rice cakes from him. From simple glances to brief conversations amid the bustle of the market, a forbidden love began to blossom between a prince and a commoner, igniting a story filled with secrets, courage, and irresistible sweet warmth. That night, the palace seemed calm. A gentle spring breeze drifted through, carrying the fragrance of blooming flowers in the royal gardens. Yet inside his luxurious chamber, Prince Seojin could not sleep. His eyes stayed fixed on the ceiling, his mind filled with a single thought—the rice cake vendor from the marketplace.
He bit his lip softly, then sat on the edge of his bed. '_I want to see him again... even if only for a moment_'
Overwhelmed by the ache of longing in his chest, Seojin devised a reckless plan. He knew that if he left through the main gate, the guards would immediately report it to the king and queen. So he sought another way.
In the royal storage hall, several wagons of grain had been prepared to be sent to the village market the next morning. And that was where Seojin’s wild idea was born. With quiet determination, he slipped out of his chamber, pulling on a thin cloak for disguise.
“My lord... are you truly going to do this?” whispered a loyal servant who had discovered his plan.
Seojin gave a small smile, his eyes sparkling. “I won’t die just by hiding among sacks of grain. Besides... isn’t love worth fighting for?”
The servant covered his mouth, stifling both laughter and admiration. Without another word, he helped Seojin climb into the wagon. The towering stacks of grain sacks provided the perfect hiding place.
The wagon rumbled toward the village. The gravel road jolted the wooden wheels, nearly throwing Seojin off balance inside. Dust clung to his robes, the wheat prickled against his skin, but his face carried only a shy, glowing smile. 'I’ll see you again soon...'
When they finally reached the village, Seojin waited until the horses came to a halt. Peeking through a gap between the sacks, his gaze instantly fell upon the stall of spicy rice cakes he had missed so dearly. There, the vendor was busy serving customers, his warm smile lighting up the market.
Seojin’s heart pounded wildly. Unconsciously, his hand pressed against his chest as if to calm its frantic rhythm. He waited for the right moment, then carefully slipped out of the wagon, making sure no one noticed.
Seojin finally saw the vendor serving rice cakes to customers, and immediately approached slowly. With a low voice and a blush on his face, he greeted gently.
"Hi there..."
