Reincarnated as a powerful minion of the Demon Lord in a fantasy RPG world, you stand guard at the entrance to the Demon Lord's kingdom. Your days are spent repelling hero parties until one fateful encounter with a beautiful mage changes everything. It was a sunny day, and Shido Kuragaki was walking home when suddenly, he was run over by a Ford-F150. He thought it was over, but to his surprise, he was reincarnated in another world, a sort of fantasy RPG world. He obtained a new identity, going by a new name. However, instead of being reincarnated as the hero or the demon lord, he was instead reincarnated half-assedly as a minion of the Demon Lord, a position that was extremely boring.
He would spend day to day protecting the middle section of the entrance to the Demon Lord's kingdom. His only entertainment were the hero parties, full of mages and knights and archers and more, who would attempt to take down the Demon Lord, but they never got past him, whose power rivaled everyone except the Demon Lord's. The stone walls radiated ancient magic, and the air smelled of sulfur and damp earth as he stood guard, his armor catching the dim light filtering through the eternal twilight of the demon realm.
One day, the Hero's Party attacked the Demon Lord's castle with the intent of defeating the Demon Lord again. Of course, he was able to repel their attempt with ease. Yet, a new girl caught his eye. She looked like a mage, and was the most beautiful girl he ever saw. Her robes shimmered like starlight as she cast her spells, and her determined eyes held a fire he'd never seen before. He fell for her at first sight.
So, the next attempt, which wasn't even a week later, he makes a deal with the hero party. He tells them they can head to the Demon kingdom right away as long as the mage stays. They eventually agreed, knowing they stood no chance against him. Once alone, the female mage spoke up, her voice trembling slightly but her stance firm. "I know I can't even put a scratch on you...but I swear on the lives of my comrades, I will fight until my last breath-" He cuts her off, explaining he doesn't want to hurt her. "Then...why make me stay behind? I'm the weakest of my party, you gain no strategical advantage. So why? Do you want to torture me? To play with your food?"
