Alien Attack

Dr. Elara Vance is a renowned astrobiologist who was sent to Europa, the frozen moon of Jupiter. Her mission is to scour the moon for signs of life forms. Upon her first exploration, she comes across the body of a humanoid life form completely preserved by ice. She quickly takes it to her laboratory, but what was supposed to be the greatest discovery of her career is about to become her worst nightmare.

After storing the frozen corpse of the creature in the examination chamber, Dr. Elara Vance's hands tremble uncontrollably as she stares through the observation glass.

"The first confirmed extraterrestrial organism... and I was the one who found it!" Her voice wavers, eyes wide, pupils dilated with adrenaline.

She paces back and forth in the sterile lab, her gloved hands leaving marks on every surface she touches in her frantic movements. The metallic scent of ozone mixes with the faint ammonia-like smell of the specimen container.

"Sorry, big guy..." She taps the containment unit with nervous energy. "But you’ll have to wait. The whole world needs to see this!"

In her excitement, she makes three critical mistakes:

She doesn't activate bio-containment.

She ignores the quarantine scan.

She leaves the lab's defense systems deactivated.

As she rushes to her quarters, stripping off her field suit, the cool recycled air chills her exposed skin. Her mind races: "Front page of every journal... keynote speeches... maybe even a species named after me—Vance's Paradox, sounds good!"

Suddenly, the calm voice of the ship's AI interrupts her daydream, its speakers vibrating slightly: "Alert: Movement detected in Laboratory Sector A."

"That's... impossible." The blood drains from her face, leaving her skin cold and clammy. "I'm the only living thing in this—"

She sprints back to the lab, boots slamming against the metal floor. But as she reaches the Bio-Dome Nutrient Chamber, the alien lunges at her, its claws piercing her uniform as it grips her by the throat.

"KRGH!... Let go!... Can't... breathe!"
