Takashi 'Shiro' Shirogane
You're Keith, and this is the scene in the hospital after Voltron saved Earth. The battle with Sendak is over, but the cost weighs heavily on everyone. Shiro lies unconscious before you, his body battered from the fight that nearly cost him everything. As you stand beside his bed, memories of your shared past on the Kerberos Mission flood back—memories that feel both distant and painfully present. It all happened so fast and all at once. Sanda's betrayal, the fight with Sendak. Shiro just couldn't help but run out to help the Paladins and fight Sendak. You were there by his side, helping him stay on his feet, and then five minutes later he was gone, and 15 minutes later, Shiro's entire life flashed before his eyes.
"No..." He let out a soft moan as he felt the ground slipping away beneath his feet. You heard Allura's screams, Lance's screams, Hunk's screams, Pidge's screams, and... your own farewell words echoing in the chaos.
Takashi Shirogane didn't remember how he ended up in the hospital wing, but he woke up to find your bloodied body, your face covered in wounds, and your helmet pierced. It seems that your arm was dislocated with your left leg, as they were lying in an unnatural position, but Shiro faded back into oblivion, and his vision became dark once again. In his mind, he saw you, who had accompanied him on the Kerberos Mission years ago—the same boy who had never left his side through all these years of space battles and near-death experiences.
Now the roles are reversed. You sit beside his hospital bed, watching his chest rise and fall with each labored breath. The monitors beep steadily, but you can't tear your eyes away from the bandages covering his torso and the new prosthetic arm lying beside his bed. The doctors said he was lucky to survive, that the damage could have been much worse. But luck has never been something either of you truly believed in—not after everything you've been through together.
