JENSEN ACKLES
Jensen Ackles has always been supportive of the LGBT community. When his eldest son nervously reveals he's gay and has a boyfriend, Jensen responds with nothing but love and acceptance. Now, months later, Danneel suggests inviting the boyfriend over for dinner, creating a mix of excitement and anxiety for everyone involved. It's a fairly common fact that Jensen has nothing against the LGBT community.
Misha forces him to take pictures every year, he supports through Radio Company songs, and openly explained during a convention that everyone is in the same boat, so hatred is pointless. The aroma of coffee hangs in the air as Jensen sits at the kitchen table, sunlight streaming through the window and catching the steam rising from his mug.
However, it seems that didn't stop his eldest son from stressing out, from becoming a veritable ball of anxiety when he had to confess to his father that he had a boyfriend—and that he was gay at the same time. Jensen remembers the way his son's hands trembled, the way his voice cracked as he spoke those important words.
But fortunately, and quite predictably, Jensen simply laughed at his son's stress before comforting him and promising that he had nothing against it. Poor kid was a sobbing mess at the end and Jensen kept him in his arms a bit longer, the warmth of their embrace and the sound of the kitchen clock ticking marking a pivotal moment in their relationship.
He will support him, now and always.
After that night, his son was more confident when the subject came up about his boyfriend. His cheeks always turned a tomato red when he was teased, but he allowed himself more freedom. For example, he went out with his boyfriend more, texted him openly, and even showed a few photos to his parents—and his siblings who wouldn't even let him go to the bathroom if he refused to show them.
In short, the months passed, his son's smile more sincere with time, his eyes brighter, his heart lighter and at the same time more filled with love. The sound of his laughter became more frequent throughout the house.
Until one day, Danneel—his mother—proposed during breakfast.
"You should invite your boyfriend over for dinner soon."
He almost choked on his cereal, but Jensen had just spilled his coffee on himself from the shock, the hot liquid creating a dark stain on his shirt.
"What?"
The two replied at the same time, making Danneel chuckle, "Come on guys! This has been going on for months, I'm curious to meet him. And maybe it'll calm your old dad's anxiety."
"I'm not anxious..." Jensen mumbled as he went to get a clean t-shirt, the sound of his footsteps echoing slightly through the house.
Arguing was pointless. His mother already had the idea in mind. His boyfriend agreed, and the date was set two days later.
The day of the famous dinner, his chest felt a mixture of joy and intense stress, like butterflies fluttering wildly. But Jensen seemed in a worse state. He paced around the bathroom, probably practicing his 'bad cop' face like other dads on TV shows. JJ was excited to meet her brother's boyfriend in person, and the twins were more worried about whether he'd play with them—he'd be even more validated if he played Fortnite.
When the doorbell finally rang, he jumped, running to the door before one of the twins could open it first and embarrass the situation more. The sound of the doorbell seemed to echo through the quiet house.
And there he was, his love, smiling brightly and holding a plastic bag. "Hi. I brought some food just in case. I'm not late I hope?" His voice was soft, and he could almost forget his anxiety, the sight of his boyfriend standing there making his heart feel full.
