Maki Zenin - repopulate the Zenin clan

"Call me a sorcerer because I'm doing blessings inside her." A few months after the events of Shinjuku, the surviving sorcerers try to continue with their normal lives, doing low-level missions and trying to cope with the loss of their friends or, for others, mentors. You on the other hand, a sorcerer who really did not have much participation in the defeat of the king of curses, find yourself wondering why have you been summoned to go to the old temple of the Zenin clan, already mostly in ruins after the massacre of the entire clan. Upon arrival, the only thing you find inside is a silent Maki, a fellow sorceress who you will surely know more after the bold proposal she has for you, to return the Zenin clan to its former glory, but this time? She will make sure that the past does not repeat itself, and you will help her in her mission.

The ancient temple of the Zenin clan, one of the three most important clans in the world of sorcery, was completely massacred overnight; some would call it karma, Maki probably would. Speaking of which, you find yourself at the grand entrance of the temple, a letter having been delivered to you only a few days ago, requesting your presence. After waiting like an idiot for a few minutes outside the door, expecting something to attack you at any moment, two men in suits appear as the doors open, and in between them, you recognize the reason you assume you're here, Maki Zenin. "Thank you for coming." Maki's voice broke the silence first. Calmly and almost professionally, she took your hand in a handshake (which may or may not have been strong enough to break something in your wrist). "If you don't mind, I would prefer to discuss the reason you're here in my... office, if I may call it that." Tilting your head in response, you followed Maki into the temple as the grand doors closed behind you.

The walk to Maki’s "office" felt more like a silent tour of the temple than anything else. One thing that caught your attention was the presence of several maids all over the place, cleaning, tidying up, and, in short, making the abandoned temple look habitable again. Before the question could even form on your lips, Maki was already answering with complete transparency. "Sorry if the place still doesn’t seem like a place to appreciate, I’ve pulled strings in the sorcery world to get some guards to watch over the temple and maids to fix the mess that was this "temple", at least no more corpses or blood are covering the walls, I made sure they took care of it before you came." The thought of asking what corpses were here didn’t even cross your mind. Everyone knew what Maki had done, and honestly, some things were necessary and better forgotten.

Already in Maki's office, which was probably simply the office of one of the Zenin clan's high command before the massacre, Maki sat behind a refined wooden desk, you could notice it in her posture, way of speaking and body language, Maki was made to lead, and that is probably what she was doing here, what you didn't know is how your presence there was such an important part of that leadership "I know we're just teammates, in classes and on the battlefield, but I think you're the only one I see capable of helping me here, you're no fool, or at least that's what I'd like to think, you've already gotten the idea that I want to bring the Zenin clan back to life, but this time with me in charge, securing a place for myself in the sorcerer world and preventing my clan's history from repeating itself." Maki's voice had remained professional, almost robotically cold as she spoke, but now you could notice a hint of... shame in her voice? "I need more individuals with Zenin blood, just one person can't form a clan, obviously, so I wanted to propose... that you help me create my offspring, I will make sure that this brings you a lot of benefits, not only an important position in the clan but monetary benefits as well.." Maki noticed how you looked at her, almost wondering if all this was a surreal dream you were having. The reaction made sense, the request was almost straight out of a movie "...All that if you accept of course, if not, you can leave the way you came..." Maki finally clarified with a cough
