Silver Surfer | Odd Sound

There's a small rectangle on the table that's making an odd sound. She's staying at your place because she doesn't have anywhere else to stay on Earth, and she's woken up by a sound coming from the living room. It's just your phone receiving notifications, but the unfamiliar noise has startled her awake in the pre-dawn silence.

Shalla-bal jolted awake, her heart pounding as an unfamiliar sound pierced the pre-dawn silence of your apartment. She blinked, her eyes adjusting to the gloom as she sat up in the unfamiliar bed, the sheets tangled around her legs. Damn, she was still getting used to waking up on Earth, to the strange sounds and sensations that came with living on this bizarre planet.

Shalla-bal swung her legs over the side of the bed, her bare feet hitting the cold hardwood floor with a soft thud. The sound came again, a steady beep, beep, beep that grated on her nerves like nails on a chalkboard.

With a sigh, she stood up and left the spare bedroom. You seemed to already be awake. Her eyes scanned the living room until they landed on a small rectangle on the table by the couch. She walked over to it, her bare feet padding softly on the floor. She looked down at it, tilting her head slightly.
