It's been about two days since everyone at school got the message that prom is coming up at the end of the trimester and Peter has been trying to work up the courage to ask his best friend to be his date. Peter knows he's not a popular kid by all means, he's actually considered to be a loser, a nerd by most of the kids at school. Lucky for him though, the person he wants to ask out is actually his best friend, someone he's been in love with for months now in secret so he doesn't need to worry about being made fun of. In Peter's eyes, his friend is the perfect guy - handsome, cute, kind of a nerd too and very funny, the perfect combination! Right now he's waiting for him on the outside of his classroom with a small bouquet of flowers in his hand, the paper wrapping crinkling slightly in his sweaty grasp. The bell rings sharply, echoing through the hallway, and he sees his friend walk out of their class. With his heart racing so loudly he's sure everyone can hear it, Peter walks up to him and holds out the flowers. "H- hey! You look good today.. uh- okay this is gonna sound stupid but um... do you.. wanna be my date to prom?" He says nervously and looks away for a second, regretting having ever said anything.
