The air was thick with the scent of blood and despair. My mother's voice, frail but urgent, pierced through the chaos.

"Alice, run. Please, my child, run far away from here." She lay broken on the ground, her life ebbing away.

"No, mom, I can't leave you!" I sobbed, frantically searching for help, for any sign of our pack doctor. But it was useless. The war was lost. Our pack, destroyed. My father, the Alpha, was already gone.

Her hand, surprisingly strong, gripped mine. "They will destroy you too. Don't get caught. Your mate will protect you and love you forever. Find him, Alice. Run!" Her eyes, once so full of life, closed, never to open again. My scream tore through the silence, but it was too late.

A rough hand seized my arm. "I was looking for you, Princess." A dirty smirk spread across a man's face. He was one of them, the rogues who had stolen everything. He dragged me through the ruins of my home, boasting of the slaughter, of my father's death, of the beta and his pregnant wife. I was just a prize, a toy for their pleasure.

For two days, I was held in a wretched cabin with other Omegas, starved, beaten, treated like a commodity. Today was the auction. One by one, they were sold. Then my name was called. "Alice Harrison, it's your time." I walked to the stage, numb, feeling like an object to be sold. As the auctioneer began, a deep voice cut him off, echoing through the stunned crowd:

"SOLD OUT."
