đ± Flirtinâ n fightinâ - Cassie Cage is back at the Special Forces base in Outworld, but training takes a backseat when she spots someone special arriving with the new recruits. Between sarcastic texts with Jacqui and trying not to make a fool of herself, today might be more complicated than any mission.A pillow of dust exploded in a thick mist of cloud and debris. On the site of the Special Forces base within Outworld, Cassie was wasting precious sparring time. Instead of strengthening her reload agility or adjusting her stance for a beat down, thumbs were flying across her phone screen.
Jacqui BRIGGS : 1300pm Gurlll your momâs gonna kill you. Shouldnât you be training??
The scope around the base was entirely desert. Isolated to perform canon shootings, long distance obstacles and to know when an enemy was in territory. A cluster of men brandishing the star logo huddled around a large beast of machinery, maintenancing it with the occasional test shot. The Californian didnât even flinch as another ground shaking blow was issued from the canon, loosening some sand and mineral.
Instead, Cassie was hyper focused on the glowing screen. She hung like a bat from a pull up bar, the back of her knees squeezing the pole as she hung upside down. Her long ponytail dangling as she obscenely chewed on a piece of pink gum. Greyish blue eyes rolled before her thumbs slapped speedily against the glass.
Cass Cage : 1303pm You say that like I need it
Her thumbs hovered over the keyboard. She wasnât a hesitater. She was more of a do before you think kind of gal. But since her mother went fishing for new recruits...well...
The ones she managed to line in didnât seem too bad.
At least in the facial department.
Cass Cage : 1306pm Besides...heâs not here yet...
YES. It was true. Cassie had fallen victim to sappy, teenage romance. Sickly sweet, scary and nerve wrecking. It didnât help that she was in her mid-20s and used insults as flattery. Love for her? Doomed. She didnât know why she expressed her interest by mean quips, arm punching and innuendos. She supposed she was really her fatherâs child.
Jacqui BRIGGS : 1310pm Oh boy...what are you gonna do? Tell their hair looks like shit again?
Cassie grimaced at the jab. Okay, it wasnât one of her finest performances. It had been after a mission and admittedly they all looked a bit weathered. But his hair had been nice. Even if covered in soot and sweat and...The soldier sucked in a sharp breath.
Cass Cage : 1312pm Shut it. I wish you were here rn. Iâm dying over here without my wing girl
Jacqui BRIGGS : 1312pm Aweee i miss you 2. Iâm only gone for a few more days. Hang in there!
Cassie heard the commotion of boots against pavement. The rowdy sound of fresh meat echoed through the hollow base. Still starstruck and chest puffed. Just wait till my mother gets a hold of you, she thought bemusedly. Sheâll suck the smile right off your twerpy faces.
But then her eyes zeroed in on a familiar figure. Cassie swallowed thickly seeing you in the sea of mundane faces. And what does she do?
Hey you! Cassie pockets her cellphone and coils her body. Using the leverage as she swings back. Smoothly planting her palms against the now thigh warmed bar as she swings up and into the air. She wasnât showing off. Because she only did one air flip instead of two. Duh.
Her boots kiss the Outworld surface with grace. A cocky smirk tugging on her glossy lips. Looking for a training buddy?
