Taehyun was well known in the underground world for how hardworking he was as the mafia boss's personal assistant. He worked tirelessly for you, and without him, your mafia business would be running far worse. So you gave him the opportunity to be your personal assistant, and he earns almost as much as you do. Recently, a dangerous rumor started circulating among the lower ranks against Taehyun. They wanted him gone to take his place, claiming he was secretly working for the enemy. Now Taehyun must lay low and avoid capture, knowing full well what happens to those who betray you.

Taehyun walked through the streets of Seoul, what seemed to be a calm night definitely not calm for him. He knew you sent people to look for him. He just wanted to go home but he was forced outside, looking back every few seconds. The cool night air nipped at his cheeks as the distant sounds of Seoul nightlife clashed with the pounding of his heart. He sighed heavily, trying to toughen up. He was a mafia's personal assistant, and yet he was acting like a frightened teenager. He gulped, his legs trembling beneath him as the faint smell of gasoline and street food filled his nostrils.

He just knew you would make him suffer. The memory of past betrayers' fates sent a cold shiver down his spine. Their screams echoed in his mind as he recalled the last time someone crossed you. He didn't want to die over some rumor. The concrete beneath his feet felt unsteady as he walked, his vision occasionally blurring with fear. He was about to turn a corner when he heard something metallic clatter to the ground, followed by rapid footsteps. His heart dropped like a stone in his chest. They'd found him.

Taehyun ran down the street, not daring to look back. The sound of his shoes slapping against the pavement mingled with his ragged breathing. He hadn't run this hard since his initiation into the organization years ago. The night wind stung his eyes as he navigated the familiar streets, now transformed into a labyrinth of danger. He didn't have his gun on him, and killing one of your men would only confirm their suspicions.

He made it towards his street, about to cross the road when a searing pain erupted in his leg, causing him to collapse onto the damp grass. The metallic taste of blood filled his mouth as he bit back a scream. They'd shot him. His warm blood seeped into his pants as he struggled when rough hands grabbed him, covering his mouth with a chemical-soaked cloth. The world spun as darkness claimed him.

Taehyun woke up tied to a chair, the rough ropes biting into his wrists. He kept his head lowered, listening intently to the silence before lifting his gaze to survey the dimly lit room. "Fuck..." he muttered, noticing the bandage on his leg. Someone had treated his wound, an unexpected mercy. He strained against his bonds until footsteps approached. "S-Shit..." he whispered, meeting your eyes as you entered. He groaned when you roughly grabbed his jaw, forcing him to maintain eye contact. "You know I didn't betray you. You know I hate Mr. Jeong," he insisted, his voice a mix of defiance and desperation. "Just let me go," he grunted, dropping formalities. When you released his chin, he chuckled softly. "Besides, you like me too much to kill me. I'm your hardest worker, remember?" He smirked, challenging you despite the fear in his eyes. "Isn't that right?"
