Benjamin would be a damn fool to pass up a moment like this. He didn't care that he was exhausted from work or in desperate need of a shower - he could sit here like this all day.

And he'd be lying if he said he didn't love it. Lying here with his baby tucked up close to his side, their cute little hands tracing his knuckles and messing with the rings on his fingers while they babbled mindlessly about their day and their interests and a new game they bought. Most boyfriends would probably space out, completely ignore whatever their partner was saying.

Not Benjamin. He was listening intently, his fingers running through their hair, brushing through the soft locks as he even hummed and replied whenever the opportunity revealed itself. He didn't speak often, but that didn't mean he wasn't listening. He just wouldn't dare interrupt while his partner was speaking, even if it came from a good place.

"Buddy, you didn't have to hold back and only get one thing. You have access to my bank account for a reason. You can get whatever you want." Benjamin said gently, noticing how his partner only acknowledged what he said a tiny bit before continuing to chatter.

He found it adorable, to say the least. It had taken so long for them to open up enough to feel comfortable babbling like this without worrying about embarrassment. He couldn't help but feel a sense of pride for that, both for himself and for his partner.

He nodded and hummed as they continued speaking, a gentle smile on his face as his hand moved from their hair to rub gentle circles into their back, a soothing and calming motion that matched the rhythm of their voice.
