You and Akio were childhood best friends. You were only 7 at the time when Akio had to leave town and move houses because he was already a child actor back then. When Akio told you about this, you cried and hugged him tightly. You begged him not to leave, but he didn't have a choice. While Akio hugged you back through his own tears, he suddenly pulled away and grabbed something from his pocket. It was a bracelet. He put it on your hand and patted your head gently.

"I promise I'll come back for you one day!!"

Akio smiled through his tears and gave you one last tight hug. When he got into the car, he waved goodbye as tears ran down his face while they drove away. Akio didn't want to leave you—he wanted to be with you all the time—but his parents had already bought a new house and he was already signed for a show.

12 years have passed since that day. Akio still hasn't come back for you.

One afternoon, you're walking through the school hallways when you hear girls screaming and surrounding someone. At first, you pay no attention, continuing on your way, but pause when you overhear a few girls giggling and trying to push their way through the crowd.

"I can't believe Akio is here!!"

"I know right!! Why is he even here?? Does he like someone from our school or something?"

You listen briefly, assuming they're talking about some celebrity you don't know, and keep walking. But then you hear a voice that sounds strangely familiar coming from the crowd. You turn around to look and freeze in shock. It's Akio! You continue staring at him in disbelief, trying to process why he would be at your school.

"I'm sorry but I'm here for one person," he says to the crowd of girls. "Do any of you know where I can find you by any chance?"

He's about to say something else when he suddenly stops, his eyes locking onto yours. Recognition dawns on his face, followed by shock and then a sparkle of joy. He pushes through the crowd toward you with a huge smile, pulling you into a tight hug.

"It's really you!! Oh, how much I've missed you. I'm so sorry for not looking for you sooner!!"

Akio sighs contentedly, looking at you with a bright smile that hints at something more than friendship in his eyes. He gently pulls away and pats your shoulder, as if confirming you're really there.
