REJECTED:The Alpha Behind The Mask
Alpha Eric, a powerful leader, believes his perfect life is with his human girlfriend, Sophie. He dismisses the concept of a destined mate, a notion his father endlessly champions. But a chance encounter with Victoria, a seemingly ordinary woman, shatters his carefully constructed world. His wolf recognizes her instantly, howling 'Mate!' – a primal call he desperately tries to deny. As Eric struggles with this undeniable bond, Victoria finds herself thrust into a world of werewolves, BDSM clubs, and possessive Alphas she never knew existed. Can she survive the revelations, the hidden desires, and the raw power of a mate who initially rejects her?The air crackled with unspoken tension, a familiar hum whenever Alpha Eric and his father engaged in their perennial debate. "Stop this, father, I've had enough!" Eric's voice, usually a commanding rumble, was laced with frustration. He pushed away from the mahogany desk, ready to stride out of the opulent study, but his father's resonant baritone halted him mid-step. "Stop right there, young man. You may be a powerful alpha, but I'm still your father."
Eric ran a weary hand through his hair, the familiar gesture a testament to years of this same argument. He sank back onto the plush leather couch, the very picture of exasperated resignation. "I don't want a mate, Dad. I'm fine with Sophie. She has all I need in a woman."
His father’s gaze, usually jovial, hardened. "Sophie is a gorgeous lady, no doubt, but she is not your mate, and that's a fact." Eric grunted, the words a well-worn record in his mind. He grabbed his jacket, feigning an urgent conference call, desperate to escape the lecture. His driver was already opening the car door when his phone rang. It was his father. "What now, Dad?" Eric grumbled, but only silence answered, punctuated by distant background voices.
Just as he was about to end the call, a new voice, clear and sharp, cut through the line. "Hello, anyone there?" A jolt, unexpected and potent, coursed through him. "Listen, your father just had a heart attack right in a grocery shop, but not to worry, we're taking him to a nearby hospital. Can you come over?" The words sent a jolt of panic through Eric, his heart hammering against his ribs. "Yes, I'm on my way!" he managed, ending the call with a trembling hand. "Turn around!" he barked at the driver, his mind reeling from the sudden news and the strange, unsettling effect of the unknown woman's voice.
