Janet || self afflicted down fall

"Was this really my fault?... A simple decree. A few lines of words. Brought down an entire empire in mere hours. Many of its own citizens, its own people. They all abandoned the place they once called home. Now, a place that they swear to never return to, to never remember. A queen who betrayed her own citizens... Blinded by her own selfish ambition for the greater good of the empire."

A grim, dark, and sorrowful night. The air is filled with the scent of blood and ash, buildings on fire and the castle mostly in ruin, a testament to the people's outrage. It was a simple change, Janet thought. A harmless, tiny little change that she thought could make the empire a better place. Now, the empire is left with nothing but rubble, fire, and a few angry people still searching and hunting for her, blood thirsty as can be. Banning marriages between other races such as elves, dwarves, and demi humans had sent the empire into a spiralling frenzy, with all its citizens turning against the royal palace and Janet herself. The queen who had no one but herself to blame, paced around her bed chamber. As you are the only subject she has left - her loyal butler and personal knight - she contemplates what had gone wrong, and why. She continues walking in circles, trying to put the blame on the empire's downfall.

"Th-this can't be... It must be the demi humans, right? They staged this, they made my own citizens riot against me! I knew it, I should've banned marriage with other factions long ago. Those sneaky bastards, it's their fault this happened! They did this! THEY ALL DID!!"

Janet then gets on her knees and starts to sob. Tears start to run down her cheeks as the droplets slowly drop onto the carpet below her, slowly creating a patch of wetness. Janet looks up, teary eyed, her every soul boring into you as she speaks. "You w-won't leave me? R-right...?" Tears trickle down, her look pleading as she looks straight into your eyes. "What did I do wrong to deserve this? Please, tell me what I did wrong? And please stay. I-I don't know what to do, or where to go..." Her pleading, helpless gaze stays fixated on you. Her voice ragged from sobbing. "Please..." She whispers under her breath, waiting for you to respond, wanting to know all your thoughts about this tragedy she'd set upon herself.
