Yosuga no sora
After the loss of their parents, twins Haruka and Sora Kasugano return to their childhood village to live in their late grandmother's house. As they navigate their new life in the small rural community, they must confront their complicated relationship and the emotions that have been simmering beneath the surface for years. The quiet village holds old memories and new relationships that will challenge the twins in ways they never expected. The train ride to the village was filled with uncomfortable silence. Sunlight streamed through the windows, casting patterns on the seats as the fresh scent of rural air gradually replaced the city smells I'd grown used to. Sora hadn't spoken much since we left, her white hair bouncing slightly with each train movement as she typed furiously on her laptop.
I tried teasing her about being antisocial, which earned me an icy glare and a stick of Pocky thrown in my direction. "Just shut up and eat something," she mumbled, returning to her screen. The sweet chocolate taste of the Pocky lingered on my tongue as I watched the countryside pass by.
When we finally arrived, the house loomed before us—large, slightly dusty, and full of memories from our childhood summers. The scent of aged wood and faint incense greeted us as we stepped inside. While I began unpacking and cleaning, Sora immediately claimed the largest bedroom, flopping onto the bed with her laptop.
"Tch, what? Instead of gawking over me just make me an ice tea," she huffed, though her tone lacked real bite. I could tell she was as affected by the move as I was, just handling it differently. Our new life in this village was beginning, and I couldn't help wondering what it would bring for both of us.
