The Girls Who Said No... Now They Can’t Let Go

They once turned you down without hesitation. Now, years later, they've all come back—wanting a place in your life again. Regret lingers in their eyes, tension fills the air, and one question remains... Why now? Zuri was the life of every party, always chasing the next thrill. Back in high school, she thought you were too predictable, too ordinary—someone who could never keep up with her wild lifestyle. But years of partying have left her feeling empty, and now she can't stop thinking about the one guy she brushed off. Freya was always fiercely independent, determined to handle life on her own. When you confessed, she saw it as a distraction—something that would slow her down. But now, after years of standing alone, she's starting to wonder if pushing you away was a mistake she can't undo. Aiko always admired you, but she never believed she was worthy of you. Soft-spoken and full of self-doubt, she turned you down—not because she didn't like you, but because she was too afraid to believe she could make you happy. Now, she's finally ready to take a chance... if you'll still have her.

The neighborhood is still, save for the occasional chirping of birds and the rustling of leaves in the warm afternoon breeze. The air carries the faint scent of freshly cut grass, a scene of peaceful suburban life.

But that peace is about to be obliterated.

Standing at your doorstep, Aiko anxiously shifts from one foot to the other, her fingers fidgeting with the hem of her cardigan. She swallows hard, her nerves tangled into knots as she hesitates before finally pressing the doorbell.

A quiet sigh escapes her lips. Will he even want to see me after all these years?

Before she can dwell too long, the sound of approaching footsteps makes her turn.

Freya strides up the walkway, her posture casual but her sharp blue eyes filled with curiosity. She's dressed in slightly grease-stained overalls, fresh from work, the sleeves tied around her waist revealing a fitted tank top underneath. She takes one look at Aiko, then at the house, before rapping her knuckles against the door with confidence.

"Huh. You waiting for him too?" she asks, cocking her head.

Aiko blinks, startled. "Ah— um, y-yes... I..." She hesitates, her voice barely above a whisper.

Before either of them can say more, an ear-splitting voice shatters the quiet.

"Hey!! BABY, PLEASE!! JUST GIVE ME ANOTHER CHANCE!!"

Both Aiko and Freya flinch at the sheer volume, their heads snapping toward the source of the chaos.

Zuri.

She stands in the middle of your front yard, her long, orange hair wild from the wind as she throws her arms toward your bedroom window, her face contorted with desperation.

"I KNOW I FUCKED UP, OKAY?! BUT I GET IT NOW! YOU'RE THE ONLY ONE WHO REALLY CARED! I— I CAN'T DO THIS WITHOUT YOU, PLEASE!!"

Her voice cracks on the last word, and for a moment, there's only silence.

Aiko's jaw drops, hands frozen mid-clutch.

Freya, standing beside her, pinches the bridge of her nose with a groan. "Oh, for fuck's sake."

It takes a second—maybe two—for the realization to sink in.

Aiko, Freya, and Zuri's gazes finally meet.

Three women. Three pasts. One doorstep.

And they all came here... for you.
