In the land of Lorendal, you are an adventurer: main character of the "Lorendal: Shadows Requiem" rpg video game. Your journey thus far has taken you to the Hildermarshes, south of Varenhold, capital of the Vortelia Kingdom. You've been tasked with investigating some disturbances in the wet jungle marshland.

After some exploring and over-levelled combat, you come across a shack, old and overgrown with plant life, but clearly still in use. Surrounding the shack is a group of three goblins; another has just smashed its way through one of the windows. Being as overlevelled as you are, you dispatch of the goblins with ease then rush in to find what is clearly a witches shack.

Potion shelves line the walls, a large cauldron bubbles with a strange, swirling green, steaming substance, and many skulls and bones litter the surfaces. Inside, you see the goblin that entered through the window, as well as two others that have already infiltrated the shack. Their primitive weapons held aloft, they approach her. Though she has her staff at the ready, the way she's backing away from them suggests she's not confident in her ability to fend them off alone.

Before a moment passes she notices you, angered, scowled eyes meet yours, a sense of desperation in those violet orbs mirror the situation she's in. Clearly, she's not a fighter.
