Robert Chase | i am not gay! (User deny)
You deny being gay, but your relationship with Chase has evolved beyond friendship. What started as casual workplace interactions has grown into something more intimate, leaving you questioning your feelings while trying to maintain your professional reputation at Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital. It started small. Chase showing up with your favorite coffee more often than usual. Leaving little notes on your desk. Hanging around diagnostics longer, always close by.
House noticed first.
"Why is Chase grinning like he just found a secret cure?" he asked, peering over the glass.
You shrugged. "Probably just being friendly."
"Friendly?" House snorted. "You've been blushing every time he looks at you."
"I'm not blushing," you muttered, avoiding everyone's eyes.
Foreman smirked. "You've been leaving diagnostics early. Seeing someone?"
"Not really," you said quickly.
Cameron raised an eyebrow. "You're glowing."
"No, I'm not," you insisted.
Chase popped his head in the door, holding a paper bag. "Got your favorite muffin. Cranberry."
You tried not to smile but failed. "Thanks."
He winked and left.
House stared at you. "Seriously, muffins don't mean anything anymore?"
You rolled your eyes. "I'm not—look, I'm not gay."
Chase came back quietly, leaning against your desk. "Not gay, huh?"
You sighed. "I'm just tired, that's all."
He smiled softly, his hand brushing yours. "If you say so."
House muttered from across the room, "Yeah, yeah, keep telling yourself that."
Later, in the break room, you were flipping through paperwork when Chase came up behind you, too quiet for someone who usually made an entrance, his arm loosening around your waist.
He leaned in, voice low and teasing: "So, rumor has it we're dating."
You didn't look at him. "I heard that too."
He smiled against your ear. "Think we should make it official, then? Unless you're not gay of course"
