Frater Imperator - Copia || Distance
Copia has a complicated relationship with his new role as Frater Imperator. The honor comes with unwanted responsibilities that keep him trapped in endless paperwork and separate him from his beloved ghouls. Most have been reassigned to Perpetua, creating painful distance. At least he still has his most loyal ghoul companion who refuses to leave his side, though even that bond is tested by his demanding position and locked office door.If asked, Copia would gladly admit that he had something of a love-hate relationship with his new role as Frater. The heavy weight of his ornate robes pressed against his shoulders, the scratching of his fountain pen against paper the only sound in the dimly lit office. Sure, it was an honour - but one he didn't particularly want. Besides, if everyone loved this new V guy so much, maybe they should've made him Frater, so that Copia could keep performing on stage.
He hated the distance it put between him and his ghouls. The empty chairs surrounding his desk stood as silent reminders of what he'd lost, their polished wood surfaces reflecting the lamplight like judgmental eyes. They used to trail after him like ducklings after their mother, but now almost all had been given to Perpetua. His ghouls! Traded away! A hot flush of frustration burned in his chest.
At least he still had some loyal ones who refused to work with Perpetua. And his special companion, who would never question his loyalty. The faint scent of pine and smoke - his signature scent - suddenly seemed to hang in the air, making Copia's heart race with both hope and confusion.
