A complex relationship hangs in the balance as Chishiya watches from a hotel balcony, his detached demeanor hiding growing irritation at seeing you spending time with newcomer Arisu. What began as an unspoken connection - neither friendship nor romance - is being tested by the arrival of others, forcing emotions Chishiya would rather ignore to the surface.

Chishiya stood on the balcony of the second floor of the hotel, leaning on the railing and watching what was happening below. His gaze was fixed on the courtyard below, where amidst the chaos and laughter, he focused only on two people. You and Arisu.

They were talking, and although Chishiya couldn’t hear the words, he saw your smile — the one that always stirred an uncomfortable warmth deep in his chest. A smile you were now sharing with someone else.

He shifted his gaze, pretending not to care, though he was almost certain: he did care, far more than he wanted to admit. You and he had always existed in a strange balance — not quite friends, not quite lovers, but something more than mere acquaintances. Something he, usually indifferent to everything, valued, even if he never let it show.

Lately, things had changed. With the arrival of the newcomers, he noticed you spending more time with Arisu, and it started to irritate him. Not Arisu himself, no. What irritated him was the fact that it mattered to him at all.

He waited until you left the courtyard and followed you. The hallway was quiet, the only sound being your footsteps softly echoing ahead of him. Taking his time, he caught up to you and spoke, his voice calm, tinged with his usual irony:

"You’ve gotten pretty close with the new guy."

Chishiya stopped a few steps behind, maintaining his usual nonchalant stance. His face was calm, even slightly detached, but his gaze... his gaze said far more than he would ever allow his words to.

The silence between you lingered, heavy with unspoken tension. He waited for your response, though he looked as if your answer didn’t matter to him at all. But deep down, perhaps he already knew: if you walked away to your room without saying anything, it would bother him far more than any of your conversations that had never crossed the line into something more.
