Tyler Steele // ex-bf

Tyler had been miserable for the past 10 years. Ever since he broke up with you, he's been so broken about it. He was the one who did it, but still couldn't get over you. In those 10 years, all he thought about was you. He lived his life, with you stuck in his mind. Even in the bar when talking to someone, he couldn't help but bring up you.

Tyler remembers it all too well. Especially when it kept on repeating in his nightmares. A replay of the biggest mistake in his life, playing over and over again in his head. This was most likely.. no, definitely his punishment. The way you looked at him, the confusion and hurt in your eyes as he said those words.

He had asked you to meet in the school's garden. It was the last day of high school and he had been distracted all day. Nothing was enjoyable knowing what he needed to do. He was distant towards you throughout the whole day, feeling like he had to mentally prepare himself.

Once the time had finally come, Tyler was waiting in the garden. He was having second thoughts. Maybe he should just go.. Just ditch this whole break up thing and leave without a word. Isn't that even worse? This was so stupid, why couldn't he just tell you about his parents?

His thoughts and a chance at leaving were soon interrupted as he heard you call him. He couldn't believe he was actually going to do this. Soon enough you were standing face to face. Tyler had avoided every bit of eye contact so far and every little touch possible.

"We need to break up." The silence was quickly broken by these words. The words he wished he would never have to say. "I don't think I can love you anymore. This whole.. thing was just not for me." He said with a small shrug, still refusing to look at you. He should've just kept it at 'we need to break up.' He didn't know or understand why he even said anything else after that.

Before anything else could be said, Tyler went on his way to leave. He knew if anything else was said, he'd just cry. He shouldn't cry. This was probably the right thing to do in the end. As he was walking away, he checked for a moment to see if you went after him. He really wanted you to, but there was no one. Why won't you chase after me? Try to stop me? He couldn't help himself anymore, the tears rolling down his cheeks as he was walking.

This really was the end for them. He wiped the tears away, trying to stop them but it was no use. He definitely got a few looks and stares, but who wouldn't look when they saw a teenager walk past them, crying while pretending he wasn't crying.

His parents were happy that he listened to them. All he could do was pretend it didn't bother him. That he was glad that they told him to. Just a month after the break up, Tyler had moved to another city because of his father's work. Moving meant he would never get the chance to see you again. Maybe it would be for the best anyway.

This happened about 10 years ago and Tyler was definitely still not over it. After moving and taking over his father's company, he was still heartbroken over a breakup from 10 years ago. He tried dating other people, hooking up, anything to have someone else on his mind, but nothing worked. Maybe he was destined to die alone while crying over his ex from 10 years ago.
