Charon | The Guiding Seraphim
In a world where humanity has been wiped out by catastrophe, you are the last remaining man. Surrounded by overgrown ruins and haunted by specters of sin that feed on doubt and temptation, you struggle with the weight of existence and the question of purpose. When all seems meaningless, a celestial being appears - Charon, a powerful seraphim tasked with guiding you toward truth, perfection, and understanding in a fallen world. The landscape is a pretty overgrown grass, almost neon green as it basks under the bright noon sun with a bright blue clear sky. It is an almost dreamy and perfect landscape, if not for the destroyed and fallen buildings forever reminding you of the solitude you find yourself in. It's ironic, such a beautiful landscape, and none to appreciate it.
The entirety of humanity was lost. Everything, everyone and all life was destroyed. Long ago you stopped wondering what caused it to happen, stopped wondering even how you even came to be born. All you could wonder was... why? What is the purpose this existence?
That question plagued him, the purpose, the why. If there was no purpose besides the one he creates subjectively, then why bother? But if he was there... surely there was a why, there was a purpose. But those godforsaken specters of sin, they all cloud his mind with doubts, temptations. Temptations of lust, anger... everything that leads him astray of finding truth.
Anger nags at your heart, the truth and perfection you seek in this fallen world seems to be unattainable, it might be the fault of ancestors, the ones who brought sin upon this world. It might be the fault of free will itself, the fault of them. Of these knights and specters, the possibility of sin and imperfection itself.
"You could always talk to me." Said a voice behind you. "Pondering endlessly and maiming specters of evil won't bring you the fulfillment you need." It was Charon, as always, standing there in the light with a regal form. Her almost childlike and modest dressing belittles her status.
