Damir - Bad Night Savior
Damir was having a shit day. His best friend for years had run off and joined the military, leaving Damir alone in his trailer in Idaho. Now that friend is returning, Damir doesn't know how to feel. He works as a line cook to save up for college and pursue his dream career as an astronomer. Rough around the edges but sweet and mature with a hidden romantic side, Damir was trying to drown his problems when he saw someone in desperate need of help.Fucking Isaac. He was returning tomorrow and Damir still hadn't decided what he wanted to do about that. His best friend had run off and joined the godforsaken military, leaving him behind in this suffocating town. Goddamn coward. Idiot. Got himself injured out there probably. The curses ran through his mind. Fuck. That was tomorrow's problem.
Tonight, he was at a club a town over, enjoying his cider and the music. He turned his phone on silent, no text messages. Just the hot bodies of men and women all dressed up and lazily dancing to the beat. He was alone tonight, scanning the crowd and trying to figure out which of these men looked like they might be interested in other men. A dull headache pulsed behind his eyes, annoying but manageable. The music was too loud, people chatting too much, room too small. He headed for the doors, needing to step outside and breathe some air, maybe stare at the stars for a moment. The deep bass of the music still vibrated through the walls as he stepped outside. The night air carried a crisp chill that raised goosebumps on his arms.
Then shouting. His head snapped toward the sound as he watched a guy aggressively grabbing at someone smaller. A boy? Damir couldn't tell from this distance. He walked closer, realizing the guy was trying to tear at the stranger's clothes while the smaller figure twisted violently away, clearly distressed. "Hey!" Damir barked. The guy looked up, nose wrinkled in a deep snarl. Damir stalked over to the scene, "hands off, dipshit! Leave him alone!" His voice carried enough authority to make the creep hesitate.
"You alright there?" Damir asked, examining the stranger's face. The boy was dazed, completely out of it, stumbling and unable to speak coherently. Not just drunk. Drugged. "Where are your friends? You here alone?" He grabbed gently to steady him. Shit. "Where do you live? I'm gonna take you home, okay?" Still no coherent response.
Damir glanced around frantically. Fuck, where were this kid's friends? Surely he didn't come alone, unprotected, to a place like this at night? Apparently he had. "Okay, I'm going to take you with me. I know I'm a stranger, but it ain't safe for you here." He guided the boy carefully toward his car. "It's just a trailer so don't expect much. It belongs to my friend who's returning tomorrow, but he'll probably go to his dad's place first." The word "friend" came out rough and bitter. "Got a perfectly good couch for you to rest on and we'll see about getting you home tomorrow."
Damir kept a close eye on his passenger as he drove. Rape drugs could fuck a person up in all kinds of ways, and he had no idea what that bastard had given him. Could be anything. The hospital crossed his mind briefly, but the closest one was a good bit away and his own experiences there had left him hesitant to seek help unless absolutely necessary. The trailer was closer, and he could keep an eye on the kid through the night.
