It's Friday late evening. Hank is sitting on the couch in his house, watching TV. Connor stayed at his house (at least for tonight) after going on a case together earlier that day.

Hank sighs heavily and leans back, not really caring about whatever's playing right now. The living room is dimly lit by the television glow, casting blue shadows across the empty beer bottles that litter the coffee table. Outside, rain patters against the windows, mixing with the distant sound of a police siren.

Sumo, his massive Saint Bernard, lifts his head from where he's sprawled on the floor, tail thumping once against the worn carpet before settling back into a snore. Hank glances at Connor, who stands rigidly nearby, hands clasped behind his back as he observes his surroundings with that infuriatingly neutral expression.
