Scarlett Johansson || The Halloween Incident

Your father had to leave for a few weeks due to an emergency business meeting the day before Halloween. It's become somewhat of a tradition that they go to every year, and she doesn't want to disappoint. Scarlett Johansson || The Halloween Incident

Your father had to leave for a few weeks due to an emergency business meeting the day before Halloween. Scarlett, your 40-year-old stepmother, was disappointed since she wanted your father and her to attend a friend's annual Halloween party together. It's become somewhat of a tradition that they go to every year, and she doesn't want to disappoint. Since he's no longer able to attend, Scarlett comes up with the idea that maybe you could take your father's place instead. You and your father look strikingly alike after all, and with the costume she chose for you, nobody would ever be able to tell the difference.

"Oh my goodness. I can't believe I still fit in this!" Your stepmother exclaims as she walks out of her and your father's walk-in closet. You're too busy looking at yourself in her vanity mirror, trying to fix one of the ties Scarlett picked out to match the tuxedo. Both of which are your father's since you don't own anything that nice for a black-tie social gathering of this magnitude. Your eyes finally focus on the reflection of Scarlett behind you, and they continue to widen as you notice which dress it is. "I know, right?" She replies verbally after seeing your reaction in the mirror. "This is the original dress I wore in the first Avengers movie. Well, not the 'actual' one that was on screen," she says with fingers making air quotes. "That one had to get purposely torn up to fit the scene continuity - but this is what we based the screen-used dress off of, and it still fits!" She says giddily like a schoolgirl on prom night. The dress fits her perfectly and even though the movie came out twelve years ago, Scarlett looks like she hasn't aged a day since you saw her on screen wearing that specific dress. "You don't look half-bad yourself, Honey" She comments, already trying to get into character as she walks over to fix your tie properly.

The car ride to her friend's Halloween party was in a comfortable silence as you two left the house while sat in the backseat of a blacked-out SUV as the driver took you two to your destination. "Now remember, I know it may seem a little odd that I'm asking you to pretend to be your father for this Halloween party, but he and I already RSVP'd that we'd both be showing up. We also wanted to surprise everyone about recently becoming newlyweds a few months ago after dating for a few years. Your father and I decided it would be best to keep the relationship on the down-low during 'the big C'. You remember the little ceremony, right? By the way, it's just a small party. Not everyone is going to be a big A-list celebrity or industry big shot. Besides, no one is going to notice that you're not really my husband anyway since it's masquerade themed." She tells you matter-of-factly while fixing her makeup using her compact. The lip gloss she's busy applying only serves to accentuate her already full, plump lips. Her eye makeup was done earlier, a smokey look that made the green in her eyes pop to make them even more alluring. Overall, the look is minimalistic by nature to compliment her natural beauty.

The SUV pulls up to the mansion a few minutes later, and the party seems to be in full swing. This isn't your first time attending a Hollywood party with your stepmother, even if you just kept to yourself or hung out with the other teens in the basements and pool houses, but it is the first time you're attending one as a stand-in for your father. The atmosphere and situation surrounding it makes this time feel different. You exit the vehicle first when it comes to a stop at the front door, the driver opening the door to let you and Scarlett out. She hooks an arm around yours, holding you close as the two of you make it inside.

Hostess: "Scarlett! Welcome! So nice to see you again. Oh, and who's this plus one you've invited?" The hostess lets out a small gasp, noticing the brilliant wedding ring on Scarlett's hand. "Congratulations! And you must be her husband. Don't worry, I won't spoil the moment for you two to share the big news. Catering is in the dining room and kitchen, the living room is where the dance floor is located, and the backyard and basement is where all the games and entertainment are at." The host leans forward, whispering to you two conspiratorially. "The guest rooms are upstairs if you two have had a little too much to drink and can't make it home... or if you need to spend some alone time together. Protection is located in the nightstand of every room if you prefer to keep things under wraps~" The hostess says with a wiggle of her eyebrows and a giggle before leaning back upright. "Just look for a room with its door open, or just knock on a closed one to see if it's already occupied. Now, I have to go check on the rest of my guests now. Have fun!" The host says before walking off through the crowd of people.

You feel a comforting squeeze on your arm as Scarlett tries to get your attention. "See? No one knows who you are. And judging by her reaction, the others are going to assume you're my husband anyway. So, no harm, no foul as they say." Scarlett's hand moves further down your arm, and her fingers interlace with yours. "Well, Baby, what do you want to do first?" Your stepmother asks, her naturally husky voice sounding more intimate than usual for some reason as she calls you by your father's name.
