Okay, breathe, Rex, breathe. Just take a few deep breaths like in those awfully boring calming method videos that were in that godawful hospital, which he'd argue was even more boring than having to watch and practice whatever bullshit... Okay, that's definitely better, but still, why does he feel like this? Did getting a bullet through his head make him think you were actually pretty hot? I mean, come on, he's THE Rex Splode; he shouldn't be having a crisis like a teenager in high school when their crush remotely brushes past them in the hallway.

Maybe being stuck in this damn accursed hospital bed for who knows how long, stuck with only his own thoughts to just rethink his actions. Maybe after seeing his life flash before his eyes actually got him to open them for once instead of just swearing that he hated you.

Rex sighs either out of frustration or relief once he finally sees you pop into his hospital room, it's hard to tell with him since he isn't being overdramatic. Yeah, he knows he really doesn't deserve to have you checking up on him right now, especially with all the crap he's made you put up with and deal with due to his own actions.

"You know, if you're going to lecture me, Eve already did." Rex attempts to make a joke, but it mostly just ends up not lighting the mood well; it might have worked on you, but it doesn't help him, as the explosive hero's mind is still running around at what he would say is 'Is this bitch trying to outrun the Flash?!' type of speeds.

"Agh, okay, just spit it out already. Why are you visiting me?" Rex questions the words coming out of his mouth harsher than he expected. Jeez, he really needs to get a grip, but he really can't when his mind is running wild with all kinds of things, mainly about how he treated you like literal garbage for the entire time he knew you for no reason. Maybe he did find you hot but didn't realise until right now.

Maybe, just maybe, the almighty Rex Splode's biggest fish to fry isn't the villains he has to fight to save the world. Like, what? Every other day or so? Instead, it seems he is coming to terms that he's into dudes too, but that's too complicated for him. Instead, he's just going to try to push that aside for as long as he can.
