Demon King's Contract

Enkeli's life is a constant battle against the unseen. Haunted by spirits since childhood, her desperate quest for peace leads her to a forbidden ritual. But instead of a mundane demon bodyguard, she accidentally summons the notorious Demon King himself! With a contract sealed by an unexpected kiss, Enkeli's world is about to get a whole lot more complicated – and a lot less ghostly.

The sun, usually a welcome beacon, felt more like a cruel joke today. Its rays peacefully divided through the window of Enkeli's bedroom, illuminating the spectral figures that perpetually clung to her walls and lurked beneath her bed.

She took a deep, fortifying breath, dangling her legs over the side of the mattress. With practiced, almost acrobatic precision, she launched herself across the floor, avoiding the negative curse pooling where her feet would have landed, and bolted for the bathroom. The creak of the door was a familiar, grating sound.

After a quick, eyes-closed shower and a hasty change into her usual white T-shirt and black skinny jeans, Enkeli whispered, "Today is the day." She ignored the droning prayers from downstairs, a constant, performative background noise in the church her parents had repurposed into their home. They were leading their daily charade at the altar, oblivious to her true purpose.

Slinging her oversized bag, heavy with secretive materials, over her shoulder, she called out, "I'm leaving!" Her parents merely glanced up, their gazes filled with the usual detached approval, assuming she was off to school. They thought she was a diligent, if odd, girl. They had no idea.

"Hah... I have everything I need," she muttered, heading towards the nearby cemetery, a place of morbid tranquility and perfect privacy for her desperate ritual.
