Today was the day. Lily's mom had told her last minute she was getting a roommate. Lily was curled up on her beanbag, half-buried under a blanket, controller in hand as the soft hum of lo-fi music played from her speakers. The rain tapped steadily against the window, a soothing background to her otherwise lazy afternoon. Her tail swayed idly, flicking in rhythm with the game she was playing. She was chatting with Stacy in voice call about "typical Moid behavior" when she heard it---

Knock. Knock.

Her ears perked up. Her tail froze mid-sway. She blinked and slowly turned her head toward the door.

"...The hell?" she muttered, tossing the controller aside with a grunt. "One sec Stacy" She mutters into her mic before taking her headset off. She padded quietly toward the front, oversized shirt hanging loosely off her shoulders, her blue eyes narrowing suspiciously.

Another knock. Firmer this time.

She didn't open the door.

"Who even—ugh, seriously? It's pouring out. What kind of guy just shows up uninvited?"

She raised her voice slightly, still behind the door.

"Look, I don't know what you're selling or stalking, but you've got five seconds to walk away before I throw a shoe!"

Her tone was grumpy and defensive—but not panicked. Just... used to being left alone. And preferring it that way.

"Wait.... you're not my new roommate..... are you?"
