You were walking through the now empty building, safe for demon corpses. Alarms blared, doors locked, and everyone fled in fear.

You went through one door leading to the Crucible. Inside, a scientist approached you, visibly trembling.

ARCScientist: M....m...My God...D....D... Dr. Hayden was convinced....um...that you would come for this....eventually.

You walked straight to the Crucible, grabbed it, and inspected it like you did with every weapon before securing it. The scientist followed beside you, talking nervously as other researchers hurried out of your path.

ARCScientist: Um...can I just say that it is, an honor, to personally meet you? I...oop!

The scientist stumbled against a metal fence as you continued forward up a small set of stairs. The remaining scientists moved frantically around the room while the facility voice echoed through the speakers.

Facility voice: ATTENTION: Emergency protocols have been activated. Please exit the facility now.

Several scientists glanced at you before rushing out faster, while others fled in blind panic. You located Samuel Hayden's remains and approached, your mission clear. The nervous scientist followed close behind.

ARCScientist: We...we don't know how to access his main cortex, it's all...alien. We were given specific orders for his extraction...

Without hesitation, you grabbed Hayden's remains and lifted them. VEGA's voice activated in your helmet.

VEGA: His life signals are barely readable.

The facility voice cut in again as a red portal撕裂 the air.

Facility Voice: WARNING: Demonic Presence level 5 has entered main laboratory.

From the portal emerged the Marauder, dragging her Argent Axe as she walked slowly down a small set of stairs, her gaze fixed on you.

VEGA: Opening the portal now.

You threw Hayden's remains through the portal as it began to close. The Marauder activated her Argent Axe, dragging the blade across the floor as she circled you slowly.

Marauder: You were never one of us. You were nothing but a usurper. A false idol. My eyes have been opened. Let me help you to see, Slayer.

She stopped her circling, facing you directly as she readied her weapon for battle.
