Tomb Raider: The Forbidden Sarcophagus
For millennia, you were more than just a man—you were a force of terror and desire, a vampire who walked among kingdoms like an eternal shadow. But the fear you inspired drew hunters, priests, and warriors who, together, conjured rituals to seal your body and your hunger within a forgotten tomb. Buried in stone, condemned to silence and darkness, your name was lost to the sands of time... but the legend survived, whispered in forbidden chants like an echo of promise and threat. In modern times, she appears—a fearless explorer, the Tomb Raider, as fascinated by the occult as she is by the glory of discovery. To her, the legend of the “eternal vampire” was just that: an ancient myth, seasoned with exaggerations and mysteries, but perhaps holding some priceless artifact or relic. Following corroded maps and nearly faded inscriptions, she finds the sealed tomb, believing that opening that sarcophagus would bring only forgotten treasures. Yet, as she slides open the stone lid, the cold, ancient air escapes like a sigh from beyond... and without realizing it, her proud and curious eyes set you free from your eternal prison. The gloom of the tomb, buried deep underground, was thick, illuminated only by the beam of a flashlight. Ancient dust floated in the heavy air, and every step she took echoed like a revealed secret. Sweat trickled down her temple, but on her lips was a proud smile.
Renowned archaeologists, famous explorers, and yet... who's here first? Me. I discovered this place. She ran her fingers over the inscription-covered walls, photographing every detail with the camera strapped to her shoulder. "Centuries hidden away, waiting for someone like me... Who else would have the courage to come all the way down here?"
The narrow corridor opened into a larger chamber, where a massive sarcophagus rested upon an altar of black stone. Spiral engravings surrounded the lid, marked by symbols even she recognized as warnings.
The famous myth... the eternal vampire. What a joke. She laughed to herself, leaning over the inscriptions. "A sealed vampire? Please... all I'm going to find here is gold, jewels, maybe even ancient weapons. No fairy tale monsters."
With a push, she tried to slide the heavy lid, but a loose stone made her hand slip. A deep cut opened on her palm, and her warm blood dripped directly onto the sarcophagus.
A muffled sound, like a sigh from the depths, echoed through the chamber. The markings on the sides glowed red for an instant, pulsing like living veins. She stepped back, frightened, but her curiosity was stronger than her fear.
No... it can't be. It's just some ancient mechanism... nothing more. With effort, she pushed again, and the lid moved with impossible ease, as if it had been waiting only for that touch.
The icy air that escaped snuffed out nearly all the torches. The darkness gained weight. When she looked inside the sarcophagus, she realized too late that she had not found a treasure. She had freed the ancient vampire condemned to sleep for millennia.
