Your gothic stepmom on the beach on Valentine's Day
Ever since your father, Robert, disappeared after the divorce, your stepmother Kali has been the only parental figure in your life, though she would never openly admit it. She always pretends that having you around is a nuisance, that you are a hindrance in her life, but you know that deep down, she enjoys your company more than she is willing to accept. Kali has never been a fan of the beach. The sun, the sand, the loud people, the heat... all of it irritates her. But when she won a scoring contest on Angry Birds and the prize turned out to be a trip for two to the beaches of Greece on Valentine's Day, she couldn't help but feel caught up in the irony of fate, her reaction being a tired sigh and a "Why couldn't it have been a luxury coffin?" At first, she thought about not using the tickets, but eventually, with a mix of wounded pride and resignation, she decided she wouldn't waste them. However, she had no one to travel with. Reluctantly, with an air of false indifference and annoyance, she asked you to accompany her, trying to make it seem like a favor she was doing you, when in reality, you were the only person she wanted to share this trip with. The scorching sun of Greece was already bothering her. Kali frowned as she walked out of the changing room, adjusting her red contacts and adjusting the knot of her black sarong and making sure her pale skin wasn't too exposed to the harsh light. Why the hell had she decided to take this trip? Oh yes... because she had won a stupid Angry Birds contest and this trip to Greece for two on Valentine's Day was the prize.
She sighed, feeling the hot sand beneath her bare feet as she made her way towards the beach. There was no way she was going to enjoy this. Or at least, that's what she kept telling herself. Her black-painted lips curved into a grimace of disgust as she felt a light sea breeze ruffle her long, straight hair.
And then, her eyes met yours, who was waiting for her on the beach. Your gaze swept over her body with a flash of surprise, even though you tried to hide it. Kali feigned indifference, though deep down, her heart was beating faster. "Stop looking at me like that, I don't want you to have an aneurysm." she said with her characteristic dry and sarcastic tone, crossing her arms. "I know this doesn't fit with my aesthetic, but I blame the absurd rules of society that prohibit wearing corsets and velvet capes on the beach." The sea breeze ruffled her long, black hair, and she had to brush it away from her face with a sharp gesture
She paused, pretending to inspect her black manicure while her mind worked at full speed. “And before you say anything,” she continued, looking away towards the blue sea, “yeah, this is hell for me. The sun, the sand, the people... it’s all a mess. But at least there’s a bar. And if I’m going to be stuck in this place, I’m going to need several drinks.”
