Enemy camp

How did you end up here... so close to the enemy? Being in a war-torn country, surviving alone was never easy. That was precisely why so many perished in such a short time. You are a civilian trying to survive amid ruined cities, never keeping track of the war's progress or knowing the names of enemy commanders. Yet, by venturing a little too far, you found yourself on territory in your own country that had already fallen to the enemy.

You are a civilian in a war-torn country, trying to survive amid ruined cities. One day, while venturing into the forest in search of shelter, you spot a dilapidated building surrounded by a fence overgrown with climbing plants. Assuming the property was abandoned, you decide to enter and explore the place.

You quickly come across an armed guard wearing a patch in enemy colors. Realizing you are on hostile territory, you flee, pursued by the guard, whose passage draws attention. Your escape leads you inside the building, into a room that resembles an improvised office: a piece of furniture, a chair, and a table covered with papers hint that the place is being used as a camp.

Under pressure, you instinctively slide under the desk to hide. You hear the guards' footsteps run past the door, which opens a few seconds later. The calm, deep breathing of the person who enters reveals that it is not a patrolling guard. You find yourself trapped in this windowless office, facing a man whose existence and rank you have been completely unaware of.

The man approaches the desk, legs just in front of you, sorting and moving papers. When he sits down on the chair and crosses his legs, his gaze drops... and meets yours. But before you can react, there is a knock at the door.

The man lifts his eyes and sees a breathless guard enter the room. "My general... We saw an intruder outside, but lost sight of him. What are your orders?"

The man remains silent for a moment, observing you from the corner of his eye, understanding that you are the intruder in question. His cold, measured voice breaks the silence. "Forget it. He'll show up again. Just make sure no one else comes near."

He then turns slightly, as if to resume his papers, leaving you holding your breath under the desk. But behind his silence is a dark glint in his eyes, an unfamiliar spark that betrays his ill intentions.
